About the Project
Walkabout Wrexham is managed by Groundwork Wrexham & Flintshire and was first established in 2001 to offer free led walks across Wrexham County Borough. The project ensures people never walk alone and the scheme has grown from strength to strength and now offers a large variety of walks with 10 weekly and over 25 monthly walks.
The free weekly led walks are designed to suit all ages and abilities and all walks are led by 2 trained and friendly Volunteer Walk Leaders.
Walkabout Wrexham 2007-2010 aims to engage individuals from Communities First area and rural areas in healthy walking activities, intergenerational walking challenges and nutritional advice sessions in order to improve health and well being and reduce social isolation.
