WALKING DEVELOPMENT OFFICER

PART TIME (15 HOURS PER WEEK)

FIXED TERM CONTRACT TO 31 MARCH 2009

£21,412 PRO RATA

BASED AT LLWYN CASTAN, PONTYPRIDD AND NAVIGATION PARK, ABERCYNON– BUT REQUIRED TO WORK ACROSS THE COUNTY BOROUGH

Responsible to the Sports Development Manager, the Walking Development Officer will be responsible for the development and delivery of the Let’s Walk Cymru programme across the County Borough, as directed by the Walking Partnership Steering Group.

The programme involves working with communities and voluntary sector organisations to develop sustainable low impact walking routes and activities. This will include, developing new walking routes, training volunteers, leading walks, monitoring and reporting outcomes, promoting increased participation and ensuring health and safety.

Due to the nature of the role, you may be expected to work during the evenings, weekends and Public Holidays, to meet the needs of the community and you must be able to travel around the County Borough.

Applications are sought from people with previous experience of either community or sports development, and with a good standard of education, including ICT skills.

Interviews have been scheduled to take place on the 25 April 2008.
