Project description - The Aim of the Voice Trails project is to enable blind and visually impaired people to enjoy the benefits of walking in Snowdonia National Park and the vicinity. The project will involve a series of walks, some led by wardens from the National Park Authority and wardens from the Countryside Council for Wales. Volunteers will receive training on how to lead one to one.

The first walk, on the Mawddach trail will be led by Colin Antwis of Fieldsman Trails who, by means of radio mikes, will give a live commentary of the walk so that the participants will be able to ‘listen’ to the view, hear about the local flora and wildlife and learn about local history.

Voice Trails project is a partnership between, North Wales Society for the Blind, Snowdonia National Park Authority, Gwynedd Council, Countryside Council for Wales and Fieldsman Trails Ltd.

Thursday 8 May Mawddach Trail Walk

Starting from the Marian car park in Dolgellau at 11.00 a.m we walk to Penmaenpool (circa two and a half miles) where we have light refreshment at 1.30 before returning to Dolgellau.
